The demand for skilled workers that have knowledge and experience with energy and environmental best practices continues to rise. It’s on the TV, in the news, and on the radio, but what exactly does it take to “go green” mean and what does it mean to a company’s bottom line?

The first half of this course aims to answer that question. Employers, consumers, and the general public want to reduce energy costs while keeping expenses down. This course builds the practical foundation to realize this goal. The terminology, technology, and methods that span this movement are all covered in this course, making it essential for all traditional tradespeople, as well as businesspeople, salespeople, and enthusiasts. If you’re looking to be taken seriously when it comes to being environmentally conscious, this is where you start.

After gaining basic mechanical knowledge of conservation efforts, students taking this course focus on the construction field principles that ensure successful green building projects. This includes over 200 best building practices that can be employed in all types of projects across all types of fields. At the end of this course, students can sit for an exam to become Green Advantage Certified and start their new path on a more environmentally conscious career.

Course Structure

This class that takes place over the course of one weekend during the day on Saturday and Sunday The sessions run from 8 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. for a total of 8 training hours each day, 16 training hours total.

During the week students will have multimedia presentations from the head instructor, workbook exercises, and quizzes.

At the end of this course students should have the knowledge and be eligible to sit for the Green Advantage Certified Associate (GACA) Exam. Upon passing this exam, students will earn their certification.

What is a Green Advantage Certified Associate?

A GA Certified Associate demonstrates valuable knowledge that pertains to all of the basics of green construction methods. Apprentices and veterans alike start their new future in energy and environmental conscious building and business practices here.

The Green Advantage Certification denotes an entry level knowledge of envinronmental terminology, technology, and practices and opens door to more green credentials, such as LEED Credentials, for many individuals.

Regulations & Requirements by State

Please note that each state has different agencies, laws, and regulations that govern student eligibility to attend our courses. Students must make sure that they meet all requirements outlined by respective Departments of Education to be able to attend our courses and that they follow all guidelines and requirements. There currently are no restrictions to attending courses at our campus in Newark, New Jersey. For more information on the course location you are interested in, please review the information below:

States Student Qualifications
California Courses are open to the public, including all entry level job seekers.
Maryland Courses are for continuing education purposes only. Enrollment is restricted to electricians and contractors who are affiliated with United Electric Supply. The program is insufficient in length and content to qualify as entry level occupational training. Students must sign documents indicating that the enrollment restrictions have been met.
Massachuesetts Students must be associates with, register, and pay through our partner NorthEast Electrical Supply. No students may pay Infinite Solar for the course directly. Courses are currently restricted to professionals seeking continuing education or business to business training.
New Jersey Courses have been fully approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and are open to the public, including entry level job seekers.
Pennsylvania Courses are currently restricted to professionals seeking continuing education or business to business training.
